  1. It has always been my pleasure to be part of this tournament supporting the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation since its onset. It became more important to me when in August 2006 my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. After surgery and treatments she responded well and was what all of thought cure. But in Feb 2009 there was a recurrence. Since then we have got it back under control with many, many changes in treatment but finally found a combination of drugs that are working. So far so good but in my wife's case, it is now considered a chronic disease and we will have to be ever vigialant to keep on top of it. Being able to throw new treatments at her cancer is the main reason that our donated time is so important. New drugs and treatments are developeed constantly and without money that could never happen. So I appreciate you all more than ever as you give up your time willingly to support this endeavor. Like now as I type this, there will be tears in my eyes when I referee in this tournament knowing that for now my wife is ok and you are all part of making that happen. Thanks to all of you.
